Linda Egnatz

Linda Egnatz is a distinguished educator and advocate for multilingual learning, renowned for her innovative contributions to language education. After teaching Spanish at both the high school and university level for over 30 years, she became Executive Director of the Global Seal of Biliteracy, a free international language certification program that has recognized individuals with language skills in over 60 countries. In the U.S., her leadership extends to prominent roles in national language organizations, including her 2023-2024 presidency of the Joint National Committee for Languages (JNCL-NCLIS). Internationally, as a member of the Bilingualism Matters Advisory Board and the Heritage Language Global Think Tank, Egnatz serves to support efforts to sustain minority languages. Her career is marked by exceptional achievements in teaching and advocacy. Her work at the secondary level earned her the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2013. The following year, she was honored as the ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year, solidifying her status as a leader in language education. Her influence in the field of multilingual education is evidenced by her international presentation experience in Europe, Asia, and the Americas as well as through her extensive publications.
